Advanced Classes- Prior glass cutting and fusing experience required.
All of these classes are "step 3" options
In these classes you will learn specific techniques to enhance your glass projects.
You may not complete a finished product but you will take home components and/or reference materials for future projects.

Enamels and Stamps, 3 hours, $75

Experiment with glass enamels and stamps. You will have the opportunity to try several techniques, such as painting, sifting and stamping enamels. We have enamel pens, high fire and lo-fire enamels to try out before you purchase your own supplies.

                               Kiln Carving,  3 hours, $75

Kiln carving is a fused glass technique that allows you to create a  relief design in the glass. With the use of ceramic fiber paper you can add depth and interest to your fused glass projects.

                               Cold Working, 2 hours, $50

This is a hands on class where you will work on a tile saw, glass grinders, and ring saw. You will learn how to finish your edges with either a matte or high polish finish. Bring your own work in and/or we will supply glass for you to work on.

                               Creative Clear, 3 hours, $75

What's so great about clear glass? Take this class and explore all the cool effects you can get by strategically placing clear glass on your projects. You will create several sample tiles in this

class for reference to use in your studio.

On the Edge, 3 hours, $75

Realize the potential of making work with sheet glass strips set on edge. This is how Klaus Moje, the father of contemporary kilnformed glass, made his pioneering works and he continues to use this technique today. In this class you will gain an understanding of the methods and design possibilities through making samples and hone your cutting skills.

Vitrigraph, 1 hour, $25

Have fun with molten glass! In this short class you will work with glass as it descends from a kiln through a hole in the bottom. Create curves and swirls of different thicknesses. You will be able to take home your workCall to schedule a time - we need to allow 2.5 hours for the glass to get molten.  Let us know what color(s) you want, excluding purples or pinks.

Layered Assembledge, 4 hours over 2 days, $80

In this class you will create a four layered project using transparent glass and glass powders to achieve a dimensional effect. Using either a representational or abstract image you will design and fire the seperate layers then return to assemble the layers to complete the project.

Box Casting, 4 hours over 2 days, $95

Learn the first steps in kiln cast glass using the box casting method. We'll explore several methods of design using sheet glass, frits, powders and cullet.

Open Faced Casting, 4 hours over 2 days, $95

In this class you will continue with your exploration of kiln castings. You will learn to create refractory molds using different materials for models as well as working with sheet glass, frits, powders and cullet. You will be making samples for use in your studio.

Drawing with Glass, 3 hours, $75

In this class you will go through a series of exercises using different products to draw on glass. Frit, powder, stringers and virtrigraph glass will all be used to create different effects. 3 projects will be completed in this class. For more information about this class, click here to visit the videos created by Bullseye Glass featuring different artists demonstrating how they use this technique in their work. Once you get to the web page, click on the Lesson tab to get to the video.

                                  Botanicals, 3 hours, $75

In this class you will use plants and leaves to create beautiful organic effects on glass. Using the plants and glass powders you will create an image of the leaf in the glass. You may bring in leaves and flowers from your yard if you wish. Small thin leaves and flowers work best for this technique. The image below is an example of the technique. You will create 3 small projects so you can experiment with different colors and variations of this technique. One of the projects, of your choice, will be slumped.

                              Reactive Glass, 3 hours $75

In the reactive glass class you will learn about the different types of Bullseye glass that can create interesting reactions and effects on your fused glass projects. You will do a series of test pieces so you are able to refer to these when creating work in your own studio. Experiment here so you can purchase your materials with confidence. These reactives will take your work to a whole new level.

Pattern Bars and Other Components, 3 hours, $75

In this class you will learn to creat several different design elements that can be used in larger projects. You will make pattern bars, color bars, cast scrap bars, "lace", glass balls, and other components. You will leave this class with the knowledge to experiment creating unique features for your fused glass projects.

Component Completion, 3 hours, $75

If you had a chance to take our pattern bars and components class then you have parts that can be used for a completed project.  If you haven't had the class, you will make or be provided parts for this class.  It can be a little tricky to include those thicker elements so your completed piece is structurally sound.  In this class we walk you through the steps to a completed project.

Glass Combing, 3 hours, $75

We love our molten glass! If you like the heat and enjoy manipulating molten glass then this class is for you. You will learn about the tools needed, glass and kiln set up, but most importantly, the safety factors when combing hot glass.

What if...?,  3 hours, $75

We hear this all the time from students. What if I did this, or what will happen if I do that? Its so much more fun to try out those what ifs than for us to try to explain them to you. Come with some ideas, we'll have projects that you can try and we'll answer those questions together.

Color and Design, 3 hours, $75

In this class you will discuss color, design, portion and perspective theory that will help you when creating your glass projects. You will work on example projects that can be used as reference pieces for future work.
